Welcome to Carterhatch Junior School

The staff, pupils and governors would like to welcome you to Carterhatch Junior School. Thank you for taking the time to visit our web site where you will be able to find out information about the school and get a glimpse into the life of the school community.

The school is three-form entry with classes organised into year groups. In September 2012 there will be an additional year group in year 3 bringing the total school roll to about 390 pupils.

Recent improvements have included:

1. Refurbished main corridors with carpet, new oak doors and brighter lighting. – see our News item.
2. Developments to our curriculum, with further changes next term, including the introduction of clarinet teaching for the whole of Year 4 and drama teaching from a professional company for Year 6.
3. Teaching strategies to better match the needs of the children.
4. An emphasis on school values to develop pupil behaviour.
5. Pleasing SATS results in Year 6.
